Some quests required a potion to be created, but it wasnвЂ™t like you had to find a formula or experiment with various combinations of herbs to come up with a solution. Collecting herbs, formulas, and messing around with alchemy to create potions sounds great on paper, but I never had to use them outside of the tutorial. Outside of that, the game feels like itвЂ™s a bunch of good ideas that arenвЂ™t given importance or purpose: theyвЂ™re just there to be there because they were a major part of the plot. The solution is simple, of course, but not always easy to get to. WhatвЂ™s a little tough is the time it takes to switch between swords, especially if youвЂ™re surrounded by foes. ItвЂ™s never bothered me as a concept, having specific tools for specific situations is an essential part of RPGs. One of the major complaints I have heard with all Witcher games is simply having to change between your steel sword (for dealing with humans) and your silver sword (for handling monsters and non-humans).

The Witcher 2 plays like other action RPGs without being too clunky, at least once combat begins.
